Well, we're now one week's worth of blog posts following the Tour of the Battenkill, and I'm about ready to wrap it up. The last order of business, until I shelve this favorite of topics until the next time some morsel of news comes along, is to look at the event's best and worst points ... again.
Honestly, now that Battenkill is past, I'm looking forward to the next races; Jiminy Peak and Bear Mountain, followed by the Saratoga Crit in late May (registration now open!). I'm sure there will be other events along the way, and many others after. It's going to be a long, prolific season and I can't wait.
Tops from the Tour of the Battenkill:
1) 7th place!
2) Another chance to write for Velo News.
3) Riding in the caravan on Sunday was all the excitement and fun of racing, without the hard work, energy gels, dirt, and fear of crashing -- not that I would ever want to do without those things.
4) The fans who came out in the rain on Saturday, and the sun on Sunday.
5) Bigger and better in 2010!
Bottoms from the Tour of the Battenkill (I can only think of one):
1) Another year until next time...
